FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I book an appointment? Simply call or email and we will be in touch with some availability options. A 20 minute FREE pre-engagement conversation is offered to ensure our services meet your needs, and if so we will book you an appointment. Fee payment of 50% is due prior to your first appointment; the balance due at the time of your appointment. Please see FAQs for Fees and Cancellation Policy. We also offer as part of your fee a post-appointment check-in email. Ask about this in your pre-engagement conversation.
Can my appointment be online rather than in person? Quite possibly. Face-to-face appointments are preferable for counselling and mentoring as body language plays an important part in our therapeutic work but we understand that there may be times where you may be stuck getting to an appointment, and rather than cancelling it can happen online; you or I may be unwell/contagious but still fit enough to engage in diaglogue; or maybe it fits with school/work life to not have to leave the premises to engage. Please note this in advance or if last minute, allow enough time for a secure link to be sent for online appointments. Educational and ability screening appointments, for the most part require you to attend in-person.
How much are your fees? For standard counselling appointments there is a flat fee of $192.50 per hour (Inclusive of GST.) For mentoring appointments, please call to discuss. For educational or ability screening please call to discuss. For workshops, consultations and presentations, please call to discuss once service is available.
How much notice is required for a cancellation without penalty? A minimum of 24 hours notice is required. This will allow us to offer someone on the waitlist to take up this slot. If less than 24 hours notice is given 50% of the fee will be charged - do consider if the appointment can be changed to online to avoid a penalty fee.
Do you offer medical insurance rebates? Not yet, but we hope to soon!
Are our discussions confidential? Most definitely, but with exceptions. Your privacy and what you share with us are incredibly important. We're here to make sure you feel safe and comfortable during our sessions. While everything you share with your therapist is held in strict confidence, it's important to be transparent about some exceptions. We are fully committed to keeping the details of your sessions private, from the moment we talk about them to how we handle and store that information. In certain exceptional situations, confidentiality may be breached, such as when you express concerns about the safety of a child, minor, or vulnerable adult. Additionally, if you communicate intentions of harming yourself or others, or if there is reason to believe that you are at immediate risk of harm, we may need to take necessary action to ensure your safety and well-being. If a legal mandate requires us to, then we may share session notes in a court setting. These rules are all about looking out for your well-being and the well-being of others. If any of these situations pop up, your therapist will lay it all out for you, working together to handle things with kindness, sensitivity and responsibility. Our entire approach is founded on trust and respect. If you have any questions or concerns about confidentiality, please feel free to discuss them with your therapist. We are here to support you, maintain a professional atmosphere, and ensure your comfort throughout the therapeutic process.
